In the wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Apple has announced that Apple Card users living in the impacted regions will receive temporary relief. This comes after CEO Tim Cook’s announcement that the company will be donating to support the victims and recovery efforts.

According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has been notifying users registered at an address declared a "natural disaster zone" that they may be eligible for assistance with Apple Card payments. As part of the Disaster Relief Program, Apple Card owners in the affected regions can skip their next month’s payment without worrying about interest or their account being blocked.

The benefits of the program include:

• Skipping the payment due in the month you enroll
• No interest in the month you enroll, with your standard purchase APR applying in the following month
• Keeping your account current if it’s in good standing while enrolled
• Preventing further past-due payments if your account is already past due
• Maintaining spending restrictions if they were previously in place

To enroll in the program, affected customers must contact Apple Card Support via Messages. This can be done by opening the Wallet app, tapping Apple Card, and then selecting the "More" button followed by "Account Details" and finally "Message." Users can then enter a message requesting information about payment assistance plan options.

The Los Angeles wildfires have been causing widespread devastation, with thousands of people forced to leave their homes without their belongings. Apple’s donation to support the victims and recovery efforts is a testament to the company’s commitment to giving back to the community.
