One of the most controversial changes that Apple made on the iPhone 7 was the removal of the headphone jack, and in order to compensate for the lack of a 3.5mm audio adapter, Cupertino decided to include an adapter right in the box, along with headphones using a Lightning connector.
Apple has more or less started a new business with all these dongles, but it looks like it’s all a very risky move, as iPhone 7 buyers are already complaining that the Lightning-to-headphone adapter is tearing.
Reddit user /u/goldenfelix is one of those experiencing the problem and in a post that reached the front page a few minutes ago, he explained that the dongle is tearing “after less than a month of sporadic use.”
While there are signs that the adapter wasn’t really used “sporadically,” it still doesn’t make sense to experience this problem in such a short time after launch, especially because they have become essential access… (read more)
