The next iPhone expected to see daylight isn’t the iPhone X successor, but the second-generation iPhone SE, with several sources indicating that it could launch as soon as May or June at WWDC.
Now new information provided by leakster Benjamin Geskin on Twitter reveals that mass production of the iPhone SE 2 has already started, and the device is likely to come with some worthy upgrades, including wireless charging.
The new-generation iPhone SE is reportedly called Jaguar and it is expected to make the transition from a metal body to a glass case, which in turn would allow for wireless charging.
This is a feature that Apple first debuted on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (and also available on the iPhone X), as the glass body enables wireless charging. Previously, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus used aluminum cases instead of glass.
