In theory, an iPhone without a physical SIM would rely exclusively on eSIM, and @dylandkt confirms this is the case, pointing to a tweet posted several months ago and revealing a prototype was already being tested behind the closed doors at Apple.
More specifically, the Cupertino-based iPhone maker is already trying to figure out how such an iPhone would work, though on the other hand, this doesn’t mean the launch would take place this year.
It’s believed Apple plans to introduce this big change on the iPhone 15, which is scheduled to launch in 2023, so the new models going live this year will continue to sport a hybrid dual-SIM configuration with a physical SIM … (read more)
