Apple Announces Expansion in Saudi Arabia, Bringing New Retail and Learning Opportunities to the Region
In a significant move, Apple has announced plans to expand its presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, starting with the launch of an online Apple Store in summer 2025. This marks the company’s entry into the Saudi Arabian market, which is expected to bring new retail and learning opportunities to the region.
The online store will offer customers across Saudi Arabia a wide range of Apple products and services, with exceptional service and support available in Arabic for the first time. This is a major milestone for Apple, which has been working to enhance its presence in the region.
As part of its expansion, Apple will open its first flagship stores in Saudi Arabia in 2026, including an iconic location at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Diriyah. These retail stores will provide customers with a unique and personalized shopping experience, where they can connect with Apple’s knowledgeable team members and find the perfect products and services.
In addition to its retail expansion, Apple is also building on its existing investments and activities in the country. This includes the Apple Developer Academy, which was launched in partnership with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tuwaiq Academy, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The all-women Apple Developer Academy is located at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and offers world-class training for aspiring coders, designers, and entrepreneurs.
The coed Apple Foundation Program, which was introduced this summer, has also been a huge success, with nearly 2,000 students completing programming courses and publishing their apps on the App Store. Apple plans to further expand this program, with the next cohort planned for spring 2025.
"We’re excited to be expanding here in Saudi Arabia with the launch of the Apple Store online next year, and the first of several flagship Apple Store locations starting in 2026, including an iconic store at the stunning site of Diriyah coming later," said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. "Our teams are looking forward to deepening our connections with customers, and to bringing the best of Apple to help people across this country explore their passions, build their businesses, and take their ideas to the next level."
With this expansion, Apple is solidifying its commitment to the region, where it has been working to empower students, entrepreneurs, and creators. As the company continues to grow its presence in Saudi Arabia, it is expected to bring new job opportunities, facilitate innovation, and drive economic growth.
