Apple officially launches the iphone x

Apple has just taken the wraps off the new iPhone X, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the iPhone with a long list of new features. iPhone X will set the path for technology for the next decade, Apple says.

Pronounced “iPhone ten,” the iPhone X is all screen with an edge-to-edge screen, with glass front and back and the same materials as on the iPhone 8. It’s water and dust resistant and comes in two finishes, space gray and silver.

iPhone X has a Super Retina display, as Apple calls it, which has a diagonal of 5.8 inches with 2436×1125 pixels resolution and 458 ppi. The iPhone X is the first iPhone to come with OLED, which Apple says overcomes issues like brightness that impacted traditional displays with such tech. It uses True Tone display and 3D Touch.

Tapping the screen just wakes up the iPhone, as a Home button is no longer available. Apple has implemented new gestures, such as swiping up from the bottom to go to the home screen. Multitasking is avail… (read more)
