The iPhone 7 might be water resistant, but this doesn’t change anything about the way you should handle the device, with Apple itself recommending customers to always avoid exposing the device to liquids despite the IP67 rating.
What’s more interesting is that the company recommends waiting for at least 5 hours before charging an iPhone that has been exposed to water because otherwise the device could be completely damaged. And it goes without saying that warranty won’t cover this damage because you’re not supposed to expose the iPhone 7 to any water anyway.
