Apple has taken its online store down ahead of the public launch of the iPhone 7 happening later today and likely to bring us not only the new phone model but also the second-generation Apple Watch, and possibly upgraded models of the first generation.
The Apple Store goes down every time before a big unveiling in what has become Cupertino’s preferred way of showing us that something exciting is on its way, so it’s not caused by an error or hack, but only by Apple’s intention to fuel the craze that’s going on right now online around its new iPhone.
“We’ve got something special in store for you. And we can’t wait for you to see it. Please check back soon,” the message posted in the store reads.
And while this message is certainly exciting for Apple fanboys, it’s worth knowing that this doesn’t necessarily mean that sales of the iPhone 7 will begin later today. The device is very likely to show up in the store this week, with pre-orders to start tomorrow, while the … (read more)
