Apple will take the wraps off several new iPhones on September 12, but without a doubt, the most exciting of them is the anniversary model that most of the press has until now referred to as “iPhone 8.”
But a report from Dutch website iCulture indicates that iPhone 8 won’t actually be the name of the anniversary model, as Apple will launch it as “iPhone X,” which will be pronounced iPhone 10.
While at first glance it could seem like Apple is skipping a couple of generations, the naming does make sense because what this iPhone does is mark the 10th anniversary of the company’s now-flagship device.
