Apple is working on its upcoming iPhone 8, the smartphone that will mark the 10-year anniversary since the first iPhone was launched. There have been many reports regarding the upcoming phone, and the latest reveal that the iPhone 8 will come with a curved OLED display, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy edge models.
The Wall Street Journal has just reported that the next iPhone will come with a curved OLED display, while the other two phones that Apple will announce, would have LCD screens. The report also mentions that Apple will launch a total of three models towards the end of this year.
The new OLED displays will most likely be manufactured by Samsung, as the South Korean company is the biggest maker of OLED displays in the market. LG and JDI don’t have the capacity to mass-produce OLED displays, at a scale that Apple would need. The price of the upcoming iPho… (read more)
