Forget the iPhone 8, Chinese Phone First to Get Fingerprint Sensor in the Screen

While both Apple and Samsung are struggling to find a way to integrate the fingerprint sensor in the display, a Chinese company is very close to launching a model featuring this technology.

Chinese firm Vivo is currently giving the finishing touches to a model called X9 Plus and expected to come with a fingerprint reader integrated right into the display, thus eliminating the need for a physical home button or for a dedicated sensor on the back of the phone.

While at this point little is known about this new Vivo model, it’s believed it’ll launch on June 28 at the Shanghai MWC conference, with sales to begin next month.
