Believe it or not, but the days of jailbreaking iPhones aren’t over just yet, and a renowned developer and hacker has recently demonstrated that such a thing is possible on the iPhone X running even the latest version of iOS.
Axi0mX demoed on Twitter an exploit called checkm8, which according to reports, is unpatchable at a software level.
In other words, if this vulnerability can be used to jailbreak an iPhone, Apple can’t do anything about it with software updates, and by the looks of things, any iPhone equipped with an A-series chip up to the A11 Bionic can be unlocked using this method.
iPhone X is the newest iPhone model that can be jailbroken, so iPhone XS and iPhone 11 generations are presumably not affected.
