The feature, which is accessible if you quickly press the power button five times, is, in fact, a screen that gives you, or someone else if you have health problems, access to your Medical ID and Emergency SOS to call 911.
However, the interesting thing about this feature, once activated, it that it also disables the Touch ID (fingerprint) functionality of the device, so the person who tries to help you call 911 can’t access any of the data on your phone or tablet.
The owner will have to input the passcode set when they bought the iPhone or iPad device to unlock the device, even if the said security features is activated by mistake. So make sure you don’t press the power but… (read more)
