As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up to release iOS 18.4 in April, which promises to bring significant upgrades to Siri and support for additional languages with Apple Intelligence. One of the most exciting features of the update is the introduction of three major Siri upgrades, which will bring the assistant into the era of Apple Intelligence.
Personal Context: With this upgrade, Siri will be able to understand more about you, your context, and take actions for you. This means that Siri will be able to provide more personalized recommendations and assistance, making it an even more valuable tool for iPhone and iPad users.
On-Screen Awareness: This feature will allow Siri to be more aware of what’s happening on your screen, allowing it to provide more accurate and relevant responses to your queries.
Ability to Tap into Apps: With this upgrade, Siri will be able to tap into apps and provide more comprehensive information and assistance. This means that Siri will be able to provide more detailed answers to your questions and perform more complex tasks.
In addition to these Siri upgrades, Apple Intelligence will also support additional languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and other languages. This expanded language support will be available in April 2025 and beyond.
Another exciting feature of iOS 18.4 is the addition of new emoji. Over the past couple of years, Apple has added support for new emoji in its spring iOS releases, and this trend is likely to continue. The Unicode Consortium has already unveiled the new emoji, which include fingerprint, face with bags under eyes, harp, root vegetable, leafless tree, splatter, and shovel.
