ET News claims Apple will give up on the 5.8-inch iPhone and instead release a 5.4-inch configuration with a display manufactured by Samsung. Needless to say, this model will feature an OLED panel just like the iPhone 11 that it replaces.
At the same time, iPhone 12 Pro Max will be increased to 6.7 inches, and continue to use an OLED screen built by Samsung as well. iPhone 11 Pro Max is equipped with a 6.5-inch display.
According to the report, however, the new iPhones will use a so-called Y-OCTA touch system that will allow the iPhone overall to be thinner, while also reducing component costs. Nevertheless, it’s not known at this point if Apple indeed wants to make the iPhone thinner, or just use the extra space inside to increase battery… (read more)
