More specifically, a 17-year-old girl from Birmingham says she plugged her iPhone into the charger, and just when she was about to fall asleep, she noticed what she described as flashing orange flames produced by the charger.
The flames caused her duvet to catch on fire, eventually leaver her with burns to the right cheek.
In an interview for BirminghamLive, the girl explains her mother was able to put out the fire without the need of emergency teams, though she now warns to never leave a smartphone plugged in during the night.
