Microsoft Edge is one of the apps that are part of Redmond’s iOS offensive, and since it’s still in the early days on Apple’s playground, the browser receives updates at a very fast pace.
Today, for instance, an update for Microsoft Edge on iOS introduces a bunch of fairly important tweaks, including the eagerly-anticipated dark mode. The new theme can be enabled from the settings screen, so make sure you give it a try should you want to get rid of the light mode.
Also, Microsoft says it focused specifically on optimizing battery usage, as a number of testers have complained that Edge on iOS drains battery and causes the iPhone to overheat.
“Some of you told us that your phone heats up or otherwise consumes more battery when you use Edge. We looked under the hood and found a few optimizations. Let us know if you continue to experience high battery consumption,” Microsoft says in the official release notes of the application.
