As such, the company is already making plans for what devices would get the new processor, and according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the 24-inch iMac will be one of them.
The debut of a new iMac powered by an M3 chip wouldn’t happen earlier than late 2023, Gurman says, and this is both good news and bad news.
First and foremost, it just looks like Apple is going to skip upgrading the iMac lineup with an M2 chip. At some level, this makes sense given the previous hardware refresh was launched in 2021 when the M1 chip was installed on new iMacs.
