We’ve known for a while that Apple was working on iPads fitted with OLED screens and projected to see the daylight at some point in 2024, but new information also provides us with a closer look at what these two mysterious devices are all about.
A new report from MacRumors and citing analyst Ross Young reveals that Apple wants to launch upgraded 11.1- and 13-inch iPads, both coming with OLED screens and very likely with slimmer bezels as well.
The focus will therefore be put entirely on the upgraded displays, with the overall dimensions of the iPad to be pretty much the same as on the current models.
At this point, Apple’s mini-LED iPad Pro has a size of 12.9 inches, so in theory, Apple could go for a 13-inch screen without altering the overall size of the tablet. This is only possible by increasing the screen estate and reducing the bezel size.
