Apple is expected to announce 3 new iPhone models later this year, including a special edition version that would celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company’s flagship product.
Even though so many details have leaked until now, there still are some contradictory rumors on the next-generation iPhone, including speculation regarding the location of the Touch ID sensor. While some leaks pointed out to a fingerprint reader placed on the back of the phone, similar to Android devices like Google’s Pixel XL, others pointed to a new technology that has the sensor placed under the display.
This means that users would be able to scan their fingerprints just like on the existing generation, but without a physical Home button, so they’d only have to touch the display with the registered finger. This is a technology that was also said to be adopted by Samsung on the S8 series, but which reportedly wasn’t ready, though it could make its way to the Note 8 lineup coming later… (read more)
