Ookla used its Speedtest app to collect information on the Galaxy S9 and the iPhone X to determine which one is faster, and while multiple factors are involved, on average Samsung’s model offers substantially higher download speeds.
The results pretty much speak for themselves, as the Galaxy S9 is said to be no less than 37% faster than the iPhone X. It also beats the Google Pixel 2 by 17% and the Galaxy S7, which itself set a record when it launched, by 38%.
These numbers pretty much make sense, as Samsung has specifically focused on improving LTE speeds. The latest flagships come with a CAT 18 LTE modem, which according to the company itself can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps.
