Device manufacturers don’t typically recommend using their products in cold weather, and the iPhone X makes no exception, though it looks like the anniversary iPhone is suffering from an issue that makes it a lot more susceptible to issues caused by low temperature.
A number of owners have complained that the iPhone X touchscreen becomes unresponsive in temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), with the only workaround currently being unlocking and locking back the device.
Totally surprising, Apple has already acknowledged the bug and said in a statement that a fix is on its way with a future software update. Judging from past cases, bringing software updates to users as fast as possible isn’t exactly Apple’s favorite thing, so it could take a while until that happens. With winter approaching in several regions, however, Apple might have to work against the clock to deliver the fix.
