The iPhone 8 is expected to give up on Touch ID entirely, as Apple has reportedly failed to embed the fingerprint sensor in the display, and the company now goes for plan B which comes down to offering facial recognition exclusively.
The OLED iPhone 8 will thus be the first iPhone in history to feature facial recognition, but there are concerns the system might fail to work properly and affect usability, especially because owners would have to hold the device in hand to have their faces scanned.
