Basically, it all comes down to a link that needs to be sent to someone with an iPhone or Mac though the Messages app. The link in question, which you can find embedded at the end of the article (but please, don’t use it for anything else than testing), was posted on Twitter by Abraham Masri and exploits a bug that’s called chaiOS and which apparently causes Apple’s devices to behave unusually.
We’ve already tested the link on two different iPhone models here at Softpedia (iPhone SE and iPhone 7) and both of them experienced noticeable lag after receiving the URL.
