Apple Maps Public Transit Directions Hit Ireland Despite Hurricane Ophelia

Apple continues the expansion of public transit directions for its Apple Maps app to Ireland, finally allowing iPhone or iPad owners to have access to public transportation routes when traveling the country.

Developer Steven Troughton-Smith was the one to point out the major change earlier today on Twitter via MacRumors, also posting a few screenshots from his iPhone to show us public transit directions in action for Ireland, which was recently hit by Hurricane Ophelia.

It would appear the public transit directions on Apple Maps are currently available only in a few major cities like Dublin and Cork, providing support for some well-known transportation services, such as Dublin Bus, DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit), Aircoach, and Bus Éirann.
