Foxconn suspends chinese production due to a new lockdownFoxconn has recently suspended the manufacturing operations at its facilities in Shenzhen, China following a new set of restrictions announced by the local government.

The lockdown comes due to a new COVID-19 outbreak, with the Chinese authorities trying to limit the spread with severe restrictions.

Bloomberg reports that Foxconn has already moved its production to other plants that are still running at full speed, but on the other hand, it’s not yet clear just how much the manufacturing of certain products would be impacted.

The new government lockdown will last until March 20, so Foxconn’s operations wouldn’t resume to the normal pace until next week.

Foxconn is one of the biggest manufacturers of Apple’s iPhone, and there’s concern the new restrictions could lead to constrained iPhone supply across the world or, at least, in specific market… (read more)
