Apple is getting ready to launch new iPhones as part of its typical September event, and a report from IDC predicts that the arrival of the 2021 generation would help boost the mobile market to a new important growth this year.
The total shipments for 2021 are likely to be up 7.4 percent over the previous year, with 1.37 billion units sold worldwide. The growth would continue in 2022 and 2023, though it’d be slower at just 3.4 percent.
But when it comes to the models that would power the whole thing, the iPhone is getting the top prize, as its growth will be more than double than the one recorded by Android.
