New data offered by Counterpoint Research shows that Samsung Galaxy S9 has become the top smartphone worldwide, after both models included in this new series topped shipments worldwide in April 2018.
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ and the standard Samsung Galaxy S9 managed to overtake the iPhone X to reach a market share of 2.6 percent each, while Apple’s model fell on third place with 2.3 percent. iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 were next with 2.3 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively.
Counterpoint says that Galaxy S9 posted strong performance in APAC (Asia-Pacific) and NAM (North America) regions, though these are the markets where the much older iPhone 7 also sold well.
